Abstract (EN)
The population of the world has been steadily increasing throughout history, but the increase has accelerated to daylight when the initial times are slow. It is estimated that the world population will reach 10 billion by 2050. Due to population growth and economic development, demand for natural resources, especially for water resources, is also increasing in general. Accordingly, studies have shown that the increase in urbanization also increases the temperature of the air and surface, and leads to be the warming of wetlands. Generally with climate change temperatures in urban and rural areas differs a few degrees. The urban area is a few degrees warmer from the rural area, and as the difference increases, heat island is formed in the cities. However, aquatic surfaces are found to be colder than other areas. The reasons could include differences in energy transfer, thermal conditions, humidity conditions, and air circulation. While the change is normal according to the climate scenarios made in the world; for most, this change is inconsistent. For this reason, the effects of climate change must be examined in the water resource development strategies.Erzurum Swamp is a seasonal wetland. The wetland is an important point on the bird migration path. In April-June when the surface of water exists, surface temperature values of the area are positively affecting the city. However, when the NDVI and NDWI values obtained are taken into consideration, it was determined that the wetland has lost the wetland characteristics due to climate change, has been reduced in size and turned into meadow area. Considering the numerous benefits of wetlands, this shrinkage should be considered an important environmental issue. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of boundary change in the wetland of Erzurum on the urban heat island by using the satellite images of 1998, 2003, 2007 and 2013 years. This change in surface temperature is also related to the NDVI and NDWI indices the change in water surface was found to be significantly related.
