The major part of these wastes areheavy metals. The limit concentration values of heavy metals thatallowed for wastewater, therefore, have specified. Nowadays, there areextensively using methods for the treatment of heavy metals. In thisstudy adsorption of lead which are the most confronted heavy metal inindustrial wastewater and in recevier areas, was investigated in packedcolumns. The effect of initial concentration, temperature, type ofadsorbent and rejeneration of adsorbent on adsorption have beeninvestigated. Horsechestnut?s internal parts, center parts and externalparts were used as adsorbents. At the end of the studies minimum andmaximum values of the amount of adsorbted mg metal per gramadsorbent were calculated. Minimum and maximum values were inhorse chestnut?s external parts: 3,71-14,36 mg Pb(II)/g adsorbent, incenter parts 2,02-10,97 mg Pb(II)/g adsorbent, in internal parts: 1,07-8,65viimg Pb(II)/g adsorbent, after rejeneration in external parts: 2,45-9,51 mgPb(II)/g adsorbent respectively. Although experimental data confirmwith both Langmuir and Freundlich isoterm models. İn Langmuirisotherm model, it was calculated 0,9974 as regression coefficient .
