Sultan II. Osman?s political life

In this study, political events which consists of Sultan Osman II, the years 1618-1688 are tried to investigate. In this context, in Sultan Osman II period, Ottoman-Leh, Ottoman-Italy, Ottoman-Persia relationships were investigated and wars and treaties were studied, and also changing policies of states and forms of treaties in time are evaluated.This research studies the period of Sultan Osman II, his ascending the throne, spoiling the marriage tradition of sultans, natural disasters in this period, economical difficulties, applying to kill brothers and navigation facilities. In the researches done, different sources and chronicles were used, the information is compared so it is easy for us to reach the correct judgement. Also, the Divan (the big poem book) which was written by Sultan Osman II was investigated, and found that Genç Osman was also a poet and he wrote poems using the nickname of Farisi. The expenses in the Hotin journey and the objects which put into the state treasure were confirmed with the archive documents.In the last part of our study, the sultan?s first and last dethrone, his imprisonment into Yedikule, his killing in insult were investigated with archive documents. In this context, this event was very shameful and it wasn?t recorded in most documents, but it is narrated in different sources.
