Abstract (EN)

It is known that dyes are common pollutants even in trace levels in the aquatic environment. Fort his reason, it is necessary to removal of dyes from aquatic environment. There are many methods fort he treatments of dyes. In this study, the removal of methylene blue from aqueous solution by Indian fig Shell which is a natural adsorbent was investigated by adsorption method. The removal efficiency of Indian fig was studied as a function of initial dye concentration, pH, adsorbent döşe and timevia batch method at room temperature. Langmuir, Freundlich and D-R Isothermmodels have beencalculated to this study. In addition, kinetic studies were performed and it was found that the system was better fitted to the pseudo second order kinetic model. Scanningelectron microscopy (SEM) images were used to determine the morphological properties of the figs surfae. Indian fig shells have been found to b effective adsorbents for the removal of methylene blue.
