Abstract (EN)
Tirmidhi is the author of as-Sunan, one of the six most authentic hadith books. Of course, it is important from where the value of Tirmidhi's as-Sunan originates. In this thesis, three perspectives for determining the value of as-Sunan are presented. First of all, information was given about Tirmidhi's life and scientific personality, as well as the content and method that made his work as-Sunan important and his sources in various branches that he used in this book. Secondly, the reliability levels of Tirmidhi's teachers and other transmitters in the hadith sanads in as-Sunan were examined. It was observed that most of the relevant sources were reliable and acceptable transmitters. It was seen that in each strata, he transmitted hundreds of hadiths from some of his reliable sources and that the number of people whom he gave more than 10 transmissions among his undesirable sources, in which he generally transmitted a hadith, was eight in all strata. Thirdly, the extent to which Tirmidhy conveyed the scripts and the texts of hadithes in accordance with the original was discussed. In order to determine this, it vas looked at the sources whose works have survived to the present day from his teachers and from the transmitters who were in the upper strata of his teachers. It has been tried to determine whether the hadithes Tirmidhi transmitted from these sources are in the work(s) that have survived to the present day and if there is in the work of the source, how similar the related transmittion in as-Sunan in terms of sanad and text is with the work of the source. As a result, it has been observed that Tirmidhy mostly conveyed the transmittions mentioned in works of his teachers and the upper stratas of his teachers in accordance with the original in terms of the sanad and text. However, it was noticed that the similarity of words in his texts decreaed as one went from his teachers towards his sources, which are more distant. In addition, in these transmissions with the same isnad, it was understood that the meaning was always preserved, even though the differentiation in the wording of the text increased
