Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted to question low back pain / neck pain and psychological situation in supermarket workers and to evaluate the participants' working time and unit of work at the supermarket and the relationship between the results. 50 supermarket workers were grouped homogeneously in the study. In the evaluation of the participants, Demographic Information Questionnaire, Oswestry Low Back Pain Questionnaire, Neck Pain Assessment Questionnaire, Beck Depression Scale and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) were used to assess participants' pain severity and psychologic condition. It was determined that %22 of the participants had low back pain and %16 had low back and leg pain. %42 of the participants reported neck pain of different qualities. Neck pain questionnaire averages: 9,04 (min: 0, max: 58). Participants' mean Beck Depression Scale scores were assessed as "normal pyshological situatian". The Ostwestry low back pain averages (mean, 4.56) were in the range of mild functional impairment, while the employees' low back pain VAS averages were 2,3 (min: 0, max: 10). The mean age of the participants is 29.5, and on average, the emergence of mild functional disability on the average can be attributed to workload. In this case it is compatible with many literature knowledge that the pain is associated with mechanical burden / trauma exposure. In order to prevent pathologies related to cargo carriage in unfavorable positions and postures, workers are alerted to this and emphasized the importance of protecting the backbone of strong neck, back, low back and abdominal muscles by informing them about appropriate exercises for preventive and therapeutic purposes. It is seen that there is a statistically significant difference between the years of working for individuals and BMI. According to the chi-square test, there was a significant difference between the localization of the low back pain and metabolic disease, the effect of the work performance of the pain, and the drug use. It is anticipated that our research will be able to carry out work in the field of ergonomics and physiotherapy.
