Evaluation of garden based education models with agricultural aplication wihtin the context of the sustainabe environmental education

This study was conducted for investigating the garden based education application with agriculture activities based on sustainable environmental education. The purpose of the research study is to detect the effect of garden based education with sustainable application on secondary school students environmental awereness and academic levels.The research methods in this study is mixed method where quantitive and qualitative data collection methods are used together. The participants of this research included 18 elementary students who were 7th grade in Gazi Osman Paşa Elementary School which is located in the center of Tokat.In the research, ?Sustainable Environmental Academic Test? and ?Environmental Awereness Scale? was used as data collstion tools. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences Program, Version 18.0) package program and Microsoft Excel electronic table programs were used to analyze the data collected from the research. In the analyzing of statistical data, correlation method and paired samples t-Test were used.According to research findings, it was found out that the application of agricultural activities has a positive effect on student achievement. In addition to this it was found that application has a positive effect to sustainable environmental attitudes, awereness and behavior.
