The applicability possibilities of sustainable development to Turkish economy

?Sustainable Development? is a concept that almost all of the countries trying to apply in to their economies. It is possible to cover both the needs of present and the next generation without diminishing possibilities of next generation, by protection environment and using the natural resources efficiently. In Turkey, we need to have a structure which is environmentally-conscious and non-destructive of natural resources.In order to find out a country?s contribution on the policy of ?sustainable development? and to secure effective policies, it is needed to have alternative sustainable development indicators. With the help of these indicators, it is possible to define tangible and realistic targets and can be taken consistent promotions?.?Adjusted Net Savings?, which was developed by the World Bank, is a sustainable economic development indicator in terms of the weak sustainability analysis. According to the indicator, while the ?net domestic savings? and ?education spending? were the positive elements of equation, ?rants from natural resources? and ?CO2 damages? are negative elements of it. The Positive Adjusted Net Savings is the proof of success from weak sustainable test.In this thesis, Turkish and other selected countries? economies compared and analyzed in the view of Net Adjusted Savings. In addition to that, Turkish economic situation was also determined on sustainability. According to study, not only Turkish Net Adjusted Savings were positive, but also it was higher than net savings in Turkey. This means that Turkish economy is successful in the test of weak sustainability. In addition to that, all the independent variables? series in the Adjusted Net saving equation were statistically analyzed and these series were forecast by the year of 2015.
