Abstract (EN)
With the increasing population, the increasing number of motor vehicles has brought along transportation problems with environmental, health, decline in quality of life and economic problems. In the search for solutions to these problems, the necessity of sustainability in transportation is emphasized. Within the scope of sustainable transportation, the use of bicycles, which include many environmental, economic and social benefits, comes to the foreground. The use of bicycles, which is seen as a means of transportation in most countries, has not received the attention required in our country and has not taken its place as a means of transportation in our daily lives. In this thesis, based on the environmental, economic and social components of "Sustainable Urban Transportation", the reasons why cycling, which has been in our lives for many years, does not take place as a part of daily transportation systems in our country were examined. As a result of the field work and analyzes, solution suggestions were developed for using the bicycle as a means of transportation in the city.
