Abstract (EN)
This thesis explores how the concept of sustainability is integrated with digitalization and ethical values within the rapidly evolving fashion industry. The primary objective is to propose solutions to the environmental and social challenges posed by traditional production and consumption models in the fashion sector, redefining sustainability as a holistic management approach that simultaneously addresses environmental, economic, and social well-being. The first part of the study establishes a theoretical framework by examining the definition and historical evolution of sustainability, the impact of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, and the role of digitalization in sustainable development. Additionally, the relationship between sustainability, textiles, and fashion design is discussed through practices such as the use of ecological, recycled, and upcycled textiles. The second chapter focuses on the sustainability strategies and corporate structure of the international ready-to-wear brand LC Waikiki. This section presents a detailed analysis of the brand's history, product segmentation, and sustainability performance across its economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Special emphasis is given to LC Waikiki's approach to sustainable fashion in the context of digital logistics and e-logistics applications, as well as the impact of digital fashion design in this field. The experimental section showcases the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital design tools into sustainable fashion design through a concrete example. Inspired by the 2025 Met Gala theme, Black Dandyism, a digital capsule collection was developed in alignment with sustainability principles. This collection illustrates the brand's potential to appeal to a niche and premium customer segment beyond its current market. The process highlights how AI can enhance both the creativity and sustainability of design practices. In conclusion, this thesis aims to elucidate the complex interplay between sustainability, digitalization, and fashion, offering an innovative and responsible roadmap for the future of the fashion industry to both industry professionals and academic researchers. Keywords: Sustainability, Digitalization, ESG, Digital Fashion Design, Black Dandyism.
