Minimalism approach in sustainable fashion and capsule wardrobe analysis

The contemporary emphasis on the imperative of integrating sustainability into various aspects of life remains persasive. Given the substantial environmental impact caused by the faashion industry, the imperative to foster sustainability within this industry is particularly crucial. This study undertakes an ivestigation into the concept of sustainability, the underlying reasons necessitating sustainability within the fashion industry and the adoption of sustainable practices. While focusing on sustainable practices applicable to fashion consumers, the study centers on the viability and sustainability of the capsule wardrobe, an emerging consumer practice. The capsule wardrobe contitutes a consumption strategy characterized by a delibrate restriction to a limited number of clothing items, exclusively utilizing these items within a self-determined timeframe. Extensive literatüre review encompasses the examination of the capsule wardrobe's potential to challenge excessive consumption habits influenced by the prevalence of fast fashion. It further encompasses an exploration of sustainability aspects and practicability of adopting the capsule wardrobe. Subsequently, the study analyzes the current adoption and impleementation of the capsule ardrobe practice. Findings suggest that contemporary application of the capsule wardrobe predominantly aligns with a minimalist clothing style. Finally, the research culminates in the presentation of a case study exemplifying the application of a capsule ardrobe collection, utilizing insights derived from the gathered date.
