Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to examine the production processes that make it healthy and safe for people and the environment by revealing the types of textile products and production styles, which are the raw materials of fashion. The sub-purpose of our study is to address the differences in the production and processing methods of sustainable textiles from renewable or recycled sources. As a result of industrialization and technological developments, as in every field, with the transition to mass production in the field of fashion and textile, natural resources from which textile raw materials are obtained have begun to be consumed and destroyed rapidly. The consumption culture that emerged in the capitalist system has a negative effect on the limited resources of nature and the ecosystem. Excessive use of water and chemicals in mass and mass production, abandoning waste to nature; harming the environment and negatively affecting the continuation of the ecological system. The very small idea of toxic chemicals, water and energy used in the manufacture of most fibers and fabrics paints a clear picture of the need for major change in the fashion industry. As a result of technological developments in production, the fashion industry has started to change by turning to bio-based fabrics in the materials it produces in order to meet the increasing demand. Among the most serious environmental problems, solid textile waste management is the most important problem facing society. It has been discussed that waste incineration and inappropriate waste management in landfills have harmful environmental consequences. In order to solve this problem, some sustainable clothing consumption behaviors and methods developed to improve textiles have been proposed in the research.
