Evaluation of the membership potential of the Niksar district in terms of Cittaslow in sustainable local development

In this study, it is emphasized how important the concept of sustainable development on a local scale by returning to the essence in the world, describing the role of local values in social and economic development, and localization. It was prepared to discuss the acceptability of the Calm City (Cittaslow) and Slow Food (Slow Food) initiatives as a model for sustainable local development. In order for the subject to be understandable and clearly understandable; development, sustainable development, local development, Cittaslow approach, Slow Food approach are examined in detail. It was emphasized that the scope and achievement of Slow Food applications will provide significant gains with Cittaslow. The social, economic, cultural and geographical structure of Niksar District was also examined, the compatibility of Niksar in terms of Cittaslow criteria was investigated and discussed later. İn this research, 72 cittsalow criteria were examined one by one with regard to Niksar with the assumption that the effects of membership of the Calm City (Cittaslow) in the sustainable local development of Niksar will be evaluated individually. According to the evaluation results, 22 of 72 sub-items are not related to the subject, and 50 of them are plans and projects. It has been observed. It has been determined that the membership potential of Niksar District is in a positive direction. In the research, the questionnaire form consisting of 52 questions obtained from the literature, the perceptions of the people living in Niksar and their dimensions regarding support were determined. The survey was conducted in 2020 by meeting face-to-face with 88 people with different demographic characteristics. Data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor, anova and t test were applied. As a result of the analysis, those who want Niksar to have the title of calm city and know the concept of skin city are extremely high. It is concluded that the majority of the participants in Niksar will achieve local development through the promotion of tourism and local values.
