Investigation of the relationship of green logistics applications with logistics performance in the context of sustainability: Case of Mersin

Today, where competition is gaining momentum, innovation action are of great importance for all organizations. In this sense, one of the most important concepts encountered in the literature is sustainability. Being sustainable for organizations to continue their existence is an important element to be considered at the beginning of an activity. The use of especially innovative methods in ensuring sustainability brings a dynamic direction to organizations, while at the same time bringing the opportunity to compete. When the literature is examined, the concept of green logistics is an innovative method especially for companies operating in the field of logistics. It also makes sustainability possible. In particular, the adoption of such approaches by companies operating with a focus on service and products will contribute positively to organizations and will also benefit the country's economy in a global sense. Another important concept for organizations is performance. Logistics performance is another important factor in this sense. In the first part of this thesis, the concept of sustainability and its scope, in the second part the concept and scope of logistics, in the third part the performance improvement and performance measurement in logistics, in the fourth part the relations between the variables, in the fifth part the relations between the green logistics practices and the logistics performance were examined. Within the scope of the findings, it has been revealed that there is a significant relationship between green logistics practices and logistics performance in the sample where the research was conducted. In addition, differences in socio-demographic factors such as gender, age and marital status were found for the green logistics practices of the participants participating in the research.
