Abstract (EN)

In this study, the issues of sustainability and the assessment of sustainability are studied. The history of sustainability and the terms and definitions related to the it and development of the concept were discussed prior to the discussion of dimensions of sustainability and organizational sustainability.Entropy, Electre and Topsis techniques which are among the Multiple Criteria Decision Making Techniques were used in order to assess the sustainability performance. Sustainable development which covers the environmental, economic and social dimensions is the belief that the rights of future generations should not be taken away from them when providing the needs of the present generations. In this context, the dimensions were used in order to assess the susrtainability of the organizations by using the numerical data related to these dimensions.The data of this study was taken from the annual sustainability reports of BP. The sustainability of BP between 2003-2006 was assessed and evaluated by Entropy, Electre and Topsis techniques. The results of the study and the impications for future studies were also discussed at the conclusion of the study.
