Abstract (EN)
Sustainability, which is one of the indispensable elements of today, has a great importance in terms of the continuity of businesses. The effectiveness of sustainability reports, which are created in accordance with the standards published by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), is directly proportional to the quality of information provided by businesses. Sustainability reports published annually by businesses can be qualitatively evaluated. The aim of the study is to compare the 2019 sustainability reports of three different sectors in the BIST sustainability index in terms of economic, environmental, social and institutional dimensions. Considering that the criteria have different degrees of importance while applying the comparison, their weights were calculated first with the Entropy method, which is one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods. In the next stage, the criteria whose importance levels were determined were ranked by calculating their closeness to the ideal solution using the Topsis method, and an interdimensional valuation was made. In the study, which evaluated sustainability performances on a sectoral basis, the output of each sustainability performance dimension gave different results. However, the corporate sustainability dimension in the energy sector showed parallelism with the economic performance dimension. In the automotive and food sectors, corporate sustainability performance has the same output as the environmental performance dimension.
