Abstract (EN)

Being one of the major problems of humanity poverty has been given great importance all over the world and various perspectives have been employed in search of possible solutions. In this study, social innovation is offered as a way out from poverty. Caring about human dignity and putting entrepreneurship and developmental approachto the fore social innovation offers a model that integrates state, society, private sector and NGOs targeting the most efficient and effective ways. Touching upon poverty, different dimensions of the concept have been underlined and explaining the civic society institutions in a historical context the problems that these institutions are facing have been mentioned. In terms of innovation, social innovation and more specifically social business management has been emphasized as an implementation of social innovation.The efforts to overcome poverty with entrepreneurship both in Turkey and elsewhere have been examined. ASDEP as a contemporary model to overcome poverty has been mentioned within the welfare state approach. In the last part of this study Support on Network (SON) has been explained as a social innovation model to seeksolutions to poverty.
