Process analysis and process improvement: Implementation in a manufacturing company

In environments where competitive conditions are constantly changing, companies should be open to developments and innovations in order to survive. Companies should follow both internal and external processes and keep the processes dynamic. The concept of the process consists of people, equipment, materials, methods and the environment that interact with each other to obtain a certain output, product or service. It is aimed to be more permanent and sustainable by analyzing the processes and working on process improvement. Companies are able to provide appropriate and alternative solutions to process failures. In this way, efforts are being made to increase efficiency by reducing costs. In this study, an improvement study was carried out in a company that manufactures sofas using process improvement techniques. The company's business processes were examined, an improvement team was created and an analysis of the current situation was made, and problems were identified after the analysis. The sub-causes of these problems have been investigated and solutions have been proposed. Information about the functioning and flow chart of the company's departments is provided. The periods from the next product order until the product is delivered have been calculated and critical paths have been determined. Recommendations have been submitted to the company in accordance with the information obtained from the process improvement study.
