In this thesis, the relation between the continued fractions and Farey tree has been studied with aid of the Möbius transformations acting on the upper half plane. Beside this, the ergodicity and also the arithmetic properties of continued fractions has been studied. Finally, the relation between the modular group and algorithms on the Farey tree has been exhibited.
