Abstract (EN)
In this study, drying experiments of corn were carried out in a continuous type corn dryer which fed from the bunker. Various temperature and pressure switches are placed in the dryer chamber. In this way, the temperature and pressure drop of corn were investigated depending on time. Afterwards, the dryer chamber was designed with CATIA, a three-dimensional computer-aided drawing program, with no channels, diagonal arrangement with channels and sequential arrangement with channels. Geometry was modeled using finite element method by ANSYS Fluent software and flow analysis was performed. Continuous and time-dependent solutions of The drying chamber which defined as a porous medium were carried out under different boundary conditions by determining the physical properties of corn. Pressure drop and outlet temperature values were calculated by performing flow analyzes under the same boundary conditions at different flow rates for the four models and the results were presented comparatively.
