Abstract (EN)
In this study; It is aimed to determine the relationship between early marriage and domestic violence among Syrian women who were forced to migrate to Kilis due to the civil war in Syria. It was conducted face-to-face through semi-structured interviews with Syrian women who had to migrate to Kilis province due to the civil war in Syria, married at an early age, and were exposed to domestic violence. In terms of sample, in this study, the desired target of 10 participants was reached with the in-depth interview technique in the phenomenological pattern. In order to conduct the study, ethics committee permission and an informed consent form were obtained from the Syrian women participating in the study. In the study; The majority of Syrian women who participated in the study were married through arranged marriages and under family pressure, without their opinions being asked, the phenomenon of early marriage was considered normal in the context of cultural characteristics, the age difference between the spouses was at least 6 and at most 27 years old, women were repeatedly subjected to violence, and women were subjected to violence at work or work. Findings have been obtained that economic problems increase the frequency of domestic violence, that the majority of perpetrators of violence do not use violence against their children, and that individuals who are exposed to violence in childhood see violence as a problem-solving method in adulthood. In conclusion; In order to prevent early marriage and domestic violence, it is recommended that studies on early marriage be increased and contribute to the literature, considering that Syrian women experience the migration process, psychological counseling services should be provided primarily to Syrian women in our country, and our Turkish legal system imposes sanctions on early marriage. Key Words: Early Marriage, Migration, Domestic Violence
