Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the challenges faced by Syrian primary school students living in Adıyaman in their school lives and the impact of these challenges on the students' academic and social adaptation. For this purpose, a qualitative analysis was conducted through semi-structured interviews with Syrian primary school students, their parents, and the teachers who educate these students. A qualitative research design was used in the study. Case study design, one of the qualitative research approaches, was used in the research. The participants of the research consist of 7 students, 7 parents, and 7 teachers who were attending primary school in Adıyaman during the 2023-2024 academic year. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview form. The research found that Syrian students face significant challenges in their educational processes such as language barriers, social adaptation issues, and difficulties in accessing educational materials. Based on these results, recommendations are made to strengthen language education programs, increase social integration activities, and facilitate access to educational materials.
