The role of libraries in the community integration process of Syrian refugees Kilis Elbeyli Temporary Housing Center example

Due to its geographical location, Turkey has been dealing with immigration and immigration from past to present. Especially due to the civil war in Syria in 2011, millions of Syrian refugees had to migrate to Turkey. After the great migration wave, the refugee-immigrant problem arose in Turkey. All institutions and organizations of the country are needed in the integration process that emerged with the migration incident in Turkey, and institutions have important duties and responsibilities in this process. After the recent refugee crisis, libraries have turned into information centers serving the multicultural society. The aim of the study is to indicate the role and importance of libraries in the integration process, and to reveal the use of the library in the process of integration into the society of Syrian refugees in Kilis Elbeyli Temporary Accommodation Center and the services the library provides for Syrian refugees. In this study, which examines the extent of the differences caused by the migration from Syria to Turkey and the integration process of Syrian refugees into society, the use of libraries of Syrian refugees in Kilis Elbeyli Temporary Accommodation Center and the services of the library in this direction were obtained through qualitative data.
