Özet (EN)

More than half of the Syrian refugees are known to be at school age. The education of the Syrian refugee children is significant in terms of the integration of the refugee children and the future of Turkey. Education has a key role in the integration of the children to the society and school environment ;however, confronting different language, society and educational culture, refugee children cannot acquire the desired output from the educational process due to the adaptation problems they experiece. In this study, the psychosocial adaptation problems of Syrian secondary school students studying at temporary education centres are researched. The study was conducted in four temporary education centres active in Altınözü with 308 students using stratal sample; to the students, a scale with 5 parts and 45 items and to 20 teachers working at temporary education centres, a survey with 12 items were employed. The results indicate that gender differences has no impact on adaptation problems faced by the students. A significant relationship was found between ages and levels of the students. Chi Square results indicate that while there is a significant relationship between education centres of the students, the situation of the students living with parents and the employment status of the students and their adaptation problems, there is no significant difference between the employment status of the parents and adaptation problems.
