Investigation of the reflection of decor designs created in surrealist style on industrial dinner table ceramic surfaces

Emerging as a movement that has created a radical change in the art world and way of thinking, surrealism challenges traditional rational thought, focuses on human psychology and emotional depth, addresses social issues and expands the boundaries of art. It also promotes personal and social freedom. Surrealism has a great impact on many branches of art, from literature to cinema, from sculpture to ceramics, and resonates in the cultural world. Surrealism increases the freedom of art and helps people understand their inner world more deeply. Therefore, the importance of surrealism has an impact on how art and thought evolved and helped people find a more original form of expression. Surrealism made important contributions to ceramic art, as in other branches of art. It has given ceramic artists the opportunity to push the limits of traditional ceramic forms and go beyond them by improving them. By deviating from traditional ceramic works, it offered ceramic artists the freedom to transform, redesign objects and display their original expressions. Under the influence of surrealism, ceramic artists handled existing forms in extraordinary and creative ways, turning ceramic objects into tools of transformation and surrealist aesthetics. In this way, surrealism broke the traditional patterns of ceramic art and opened a new world for artists. In this study, literature review and observation technique, one of the qualitative research methods, were used. Among the literature examined, surrealism and ceramics were focused on, and the results of research conducted in this context were taken into account.
