Recent developments in technology and increase of necessities have effected manufacturing methods. Welding procedure is one of the methods that has been changed. Welding of different materials becomes very important to reduce cost. With friction welding method which is one of the solid state bonding methods, it is possible to weld different materials.In this study, the weldability of Ck 45 and St 52-3 by friction welding was investigated. So it was aimed to save consumption St 52-3 which has high cost. During welding process, temperature variations at the surface of welding places were measured with infrared temperature measurement device. After welding, tensile and hardness experiments were done on specimens, micro structures to determine optimum welding parameters. In addition changes at grain structures and mechanical properties were investigated by applying heat treatment under suitable conditionsAs a result of this study, it has been seen that these two steels could be joined by friction welding.
