Abstract (EN)

Recent developments in material sciences have boosted to introduce new types of materials. There is e strongly need new joining methods for using of these materials in manufacturing applications. With friction welding method which is one of the solid state bonding methods, it is possible to weld any sort of materials. In this study, Fracture properties of AISI 8620 steel and AISI 1040 carbon steel by friction welding are investigated. Hence, determining of optimum welding parameters is main objective of this study. After welding, tensile and hardness experiments are realized. In order to determine optimum welding parameters, EDS analysis are carried out. Moreover changes at grain structures and mechanical properties were researched by applying heat treatment under suitable conditions.
