Investigation of effects of patients? position on central venous pressure?s ?y? wave value during the fluid therapy

The aim of this study is to find out the effect of reverse Trendelenburg position on central venous pressure of ?y? wave value during the fluid therapy on the patients having been treated in ICU.After the approval ethic committee of the faculty and their primary relatives? approval and permission, the patients were included to this study. These patients were classed in two groups; Group I (the patients lacking fluid) and Group II (the patients not lacking fluid).Hemodynamic monitorization was conducted by placing of right internal vein PAC. All patients? ECG and central venous pressure wave monitorizations were carried out.The measurements for HR, Art S, Art D, MAP, CVP, PAM, PCWP, CO, CI, SV, SVI, SVR, SVRI, PVR, PVRI, LVSW, LVSWI, RVSW, RVSWI, LHCPP ?y? wave values were taken first in supine position, second 1 minute after 30 degrees reverse Trendelenburg position, third after 500 ml. of 0,9% NaCl was given to the patients in 10 minutes, and last after the patients were returned to 30 degrees reverse Trendelenburg position.No statistically meaningful difference was found between groups and within groups assessments for the demographic data and KH, Art S, Art D, OAB, CO, CI, SV, SVI, SVR, SVRI, PVR, PVRI, LVSW, LVSWI, RVSW, RVSWI, LHCPP measures of the patients. During between groups and within groups assessments, statistically meaningful differences were recorded in Group I?s PAM, PCWP CVP, and y wave measurements, and in Group II?s CVP, and y wave measurements.In conclusion, determination of fluid therapy was found by the evaluation of ?y? value measured with central venous catheter on the patient having been treated in ICU.
