An Experimental research of effects of using gasoline and liquefied petroleum gases on a petrol engine performance

In this study, the use of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) in Turkey and in the world in the automobiles that have sparking plug engines system and those systems in the automobiles run with LPG have been examined. The vehicles run with LPG and gasoline were tested with the stable speed test by forming road conditions on the chassis dynamometer. In the tests, vehicles were used having first generation LPG systems. In both use of the fuels, the power of wheel and emissions of exhaust were measured. After the tests, the power of wheel and emissions of exhaust obtained in both of the fıjıels were compared. As a result of the comparison, it was found out that there is a loss of power of 13% considered the lower speeds of the vehicles and 35% considered the fast speeds of the vehicles on the power of wheel in the engines run with LPG compared to the one am with gasoline. On the contrary, it was also found out that there was a decrease in the exhaust emissions. Key Words : Liquefied petroleum gases systems, Liquefied petroleum gases, Performance, Emissions
