Synthesis and biological activity studies of some 3-aryl-2-(4-(substituted phenyl)thiazol-2-yl)acrylonitrile derivatives

In this study, a series of 3-aryl-2-(4-(substituted phenyl)thiazol-2-yl)acrylonitrile compounds will be synthesized and evaluated for their antimycobacterial activities. The synthesis of the target compounds will be carried out by reaction of a mixture of 2-cyanothioacetamide and 2-halo-1-(substituted phenyl)ethane-1-one with the appropriate aryl aldehyde derivatives. The structures of the compounds will be elucidated by spectral methods and elemental analysis results, and their antimicrobial activities and effects will be screened by the microplate alamar blue test (MABA) method.
