Abstract (EN)

Today, while designing and producing gun frames; since they are exposed to high wear, dynamic loads and corrosion due to their working mechanisms, high-strength and high-corrosion-wearing materials are preferred in their production. Various materials are used that provide these properties such as steel, aluminium alloys, polymer composite materials etc. In this study; hardness measurement tests, tensile tests and impact tests are applied to the 30% glass fiber reinforced PA66 (polyamide66) polymer composite material produced by injection molding with 6061 T6 aluminum alloy, which is frequently used in the production of gun frames in the most widely used calibers in our country, such as 9 mm and 7.65 mm. The mechanical properties of the materials were determined by applying it to the material and it was aimed to select the most suitable material for the gun frames by measuring the weight, density and corrosion values. Tensile strength, impact strength, hardness values, corrosion resistance, densities and weights of the samples in question were determined. It was observed that the polymer composite material used in the experimental study was approximately 55% lighter than the aluminum material. On the other hand, it was determined that the tensile strength, impact strength and density value of the aluminum material were higher than the polymer composite material. As a result of the experiments; Although the metallic material has more mechanically superior properties compared to the polymer composite material, the optimum material selection suitable for the purpose of use has been selected due to the weight and corrosion disadvantage in areas where the weight factor is important, as in the guns.
