Abstract (EN)

The sizing process optimization was investigated with Taguchi Method and Taguchi Method based on Grey Relational Analysis. In the study, In the sizing process for 100% cotton yarn, yarn counts in Ne 50/1 Cotton, Ne 60/1 Cotton, and Ne 70 /1 Cotton, yarn delivery speed in 40 m/min, 50 m/min , 60 m/min, 70 m/min, 80 m/min, 90 m/min and viscosity values in 14 Ns/m2, 20 Ns/m2 , 24 Ns/m2 were used. In the optimization, the optimization of the efficiency output and the strength output were chosen as targets. Trials were performed in the mill conditions and the best strength value was found at speed 40 m/min , at Viscosity 24 Ns/m2 , at Yarn Count Ne 70/1 combination, the optimum efficiency value was found at Speed 70 m/min, at Viscosity 20 Ns/m2 , Yarn Count Ne 60/1, When Efficiency and Strength are together optimized, process parameters are for weighting 0.5-0.5 : Speed 70 m/min, Viscosity 20 Ns/m2 , Yarn Count Ne 60/ 1; weighting for 0.7-0.3 : Speed 70 m/min, Viscosity 20 Ns/m2 , Yarn Count Ne 60/1 ; weighting for 0.3-0.7 : Speed 40 m/min, Viscosity 24 Ns/m2 , Yarn Count Ne 70/1 has been found., These results are better than the mill's applications. They were put forth with validation experiments.
