Özet (EN)

In this research, the occurrence and levels of fumonisin B1 (FB1), fumonisin B2 (FB2) and deoxynivalenol (DON) were determined in 75 cereal-based foods for infants and young children purchased from different markets and retail shops in Çorum and Istanbul, using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The limit of detection (LOD) values of FB1, FB2 and DON were 14,6 µg kg-1, 13,3 µg kg-1 and 15,5 µg kg-1, whereas limit of quantification (LOQ) values for FB1, FB2 and DON were 48,6 µg kg-1, 44,2 µg kg-1 and 51,7 µg kg-1. The recovery of FB1, FB2 and DON varied from 84,5 to 93,2%, while the repeatabilities were ranged from 5,8 to 12,7%. While FB1 was found in only 3 out of 75 cereal-based foods for infants and young children at levels varying from 42,5 to 100,9 µg kg-1, FB2 was not detected in any of the samples. DON was found in 16 samples at levels ranging from 59,4 to 342,4 µg kg-1. Only one sample contained DON at levels higher than maximum limit (ML) (200 µg kg-1) established by the European Commission and Turkish Food Codex Regulations. The exposure of FB1 and DON for infants and young children via the consumption of cereal-based formula was 0,070–0,096 µg kg-1 body weight (b.w.) day-1 and 0,144–0,196 µg kg-1 b.w. day-1 at upper bound, respectively.
