Abstract (EN)
As in all areas of life, the importance of human relations in business life is an undeniable reality. Knowing the characteristics of team members is the most important factor in creating an environment of cooperation and preventing conflict in teamwork, which is as important as individual work in professional working life. In team work, in addition to the importance of individual characteristics, the characteristics of the group such as being able to work together and finding solutions should also be taken into account. The first and most important element of teamwork is the team leader's characteristics, attitudes and behaviors towards the group. Because no matter how strong the motivations of individual individuals are, it is usually a leader who makes it meaningful together and forms the basis of a team belonging. In order to determine the motivations of the generations in teamwork and to determine the effects of generational differences on leadership roles in workplaces that host 3 generations, X, Y and Z at the same time; A survey was conducted with 3 different scales, namely the Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale, the Team Work Aptitude Scale and the Leader Behavior Descriptive Scale, and 399 people were reached. The population of the research consists of white-collar employees operating in the service sector, and the sample consists of insurance company employees located in Istanbul. When the results of the research are examined, it is concluded that the extrinsic motivation of the younger generations is more effective than the generations before them, that the majority of the individuals who manage the team are members of the X generation, and that the Z generation has just taken a new step into working life.
