Abstract (EN)

In Turkey, the first sources of the written child literature works which started to be composed in the 19th century are the child magazines. More than fifty child magazines had been published during the period, from 1869 to the alphabet revolution.At this study, Talebe Defteri published as 68 volumes between the 5th June 1913 and the 20th March 1919. Student?s Notebook consists of the articles, poems, stories, souvenirs, theatre scenarios and the sample texts which are educational, instructional and entertaining for children.The thesis composes of three chapters and two appendix. The first chapter involves the index according to the authors? names and the subjects? titles, and the second chapter contains the selected texts. The third chapter includes evaluation. Appendix one contains the dictionary and appendix two compromises interesting pictures from the magazines.The publish period, the content and variety distribution of the magazines were examined in the evaluation chapter. In the selected texts part, almost 20 percent of all texts in the magazines were translated into today?s Turkish to explain the content of the magazine more by providing texts which contributes to all literary sorts of child education and child literature. Dictionary includes the words from the selected texts which we estimated that the readers may not know their meanings and rarely used nowadays.This study was researched to both indicate that the child literature had not been ignored during an intensive period of Turkish History (1913?1919) and to provide a source to the researcher in the field of child literature.In Turkey, the first sources of the written child literature works which started to be composed in the 19th century are the child magazines.
