The development and evaluation of effectiveness of beginners' level bağlama teaching program based on mastery learning model

The aim of this research is to create a systematic teaching program for beginners' level bağlama education and to reveal its effectiveness by applying the created program within the framework of the mastery learning model. The research was patterned in a quantitative model. Considering the study group of the research in two sections as needs analysis and experimental process, the needs analysis data were collected from 21 bağlama teachers working in Fine Arts High Schools in 21 provinces throughout Turkey. The draft program was applied to 6 bağlama students studying at grade 9 level at Kayseri Fine Arts High School by two bağlama teachers. In the experimental process, a single-group pre-test-post-test experimental pattern was used at the stage of development and measurement of cognitive and affective gains; while at the stage of development and measurement of instrument performance, which constitutes psychomotor goals, a process evaluation approach was followed. In addition, the process evaluation approach was used to compare the development of cognitive achievements at the end of the unit. In order to collect the data in the research, the "instrument performance self-efficacy belief scale" and the "general achievement test (cognitive)" were applied to the experimental group students as pre-test and post-test during the experimental process. Moreover, the improvement in the instrument performances of the students during the process monitoring was recorded by video and scored by the experts with the "beginner's level long-necked bağlama performance evaluation scale". Within the scope of the research, it has been concluded that the "Beginner's Level Bağlama Curriculum" is an effective program for students' cognitive achievement levels, self-efficacy belief levels for instrument performance and instrument performances to increase significantly throughout the process.
