Abstract (EN)

In this study, the formal analysis of Tanbûri Mustafa Çavuş's works in the form of songs is examined. A total of 48 compositions by the composer were analyzed. The study aims to serve as a resource for performers and researchers of Classical Turkish Music vocal works. In the methodology section of the study, the analysis method is first discussed. Then, the form of the "Şarkı" is described, followed by an overview of Tanbûri Mustafa Çavuş's life and musical background. In the findings section, a formal analysis of the 48 examined works is presented, detailing the general structure of the compositions. To uncover the form in which Tanbûri Mustafa Çavuş composed his works, a qualitative research and survey model was employed. The compositions were transcribed electronically using the "mus2" notation software, adhering strictly to the original notations. Additionally, electronic and written sources were reviewed for data collection. In this study, which covers the formal analysis of Tanbûri Mustafa Çavuş's compositions in the song form, 42 structures were identified as a result of the analyses. These structures are categorized into 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 16, and 18 lines. The findings are detailed in the conclusion and recommendations section.
