Abstract (EN)
Heavy metals from several industrial waste, causes soil, water and air pollution. Heavy metals can be removed with adsorption and chemical reaction by some materials. Adsorption even exists with removal of atoms, ions or molecules on a solid surface. Adsorption is one of the methods commonly and efficiently used for treatment for these type of wastewaters. It has been stated, the augmentation of bacteria and other organism in filter beds, where active carbon is used to remove heavy metals, results in major economical problems. Therefore optimum conditions for removal heavy metals investigated by using sumac leaves that are known to contain tannins which have antibacterial, antimicrobial and anticorrosive effects, and that are widely grown in the highlands of our country. In this study, copper, lead and zinc as heavy metals were removed from aqueos solutions batch system with sumac leaves, tanin-formaldehyde-gelatin resins and tanin from sumac leaves- formaldehyde-gelatin resins. In batch system, it was seen that the system came to equilibrium at about 120 minutes. It was observed that removal metal from aqueous solution depended on pH value but not temperature. It was also seen that optimum pH values in adsorption of Cu+2, Pb+2 and Zn+2 ions were 8, 5 and 7 relatively, for sumac leaves; 4, 5 and 7 relatively for tanin- formaldehyde- gelatin resins; 4, 6 and 6 relatively for tanin for sumac leaves- formaldehyde- gelatin resins. pH and T data were analysed and conformace to Langmuir and Freundlich isoterms were checked. Besides double and triple competitive adsorption of copper, lead and zinc ions are tried to analyze in optimum conditions.
