Woman's change in Turkish novel from Tanzimat era to Republic era

When we look at the subjects of the fictional texts from Tanzimat Era to Republic Era even earlier we can see that in literary texts "woman" is treated in different ways. Some novelists put the woman to the center of then ovel in the direction of an adopted thesis and in this context by pushing her to diversity adventures, they tried to prove their thesis. Some other novelists characterized the woman as just a love object and gave them a role in that way in their novels. In our study it is tried to go around the observed change of women during the novel and in what way woman is treated in these seventeen novels which are analysed for this study and has women main characters. In our study we benefit from diversity women-themed studies by mentioning their resources. In introduction part it is tried to explain the place of woman in literature and the change of women's status in time by starting from women-society relationship. It is tried to show the place of women in society, women's education life, role in history, place in literature, relationship with change and women's change in the novel. In the parts which are categorized according to women's fate in analysed novels, each novel is analysed in itself and at end of the evaluation it is tried to reveal the change level of the novels' main characters. After the general evaluation of our analysis our study has an end. In this study which goes around seventeen novels which has woman main characters and have been so popular in their first times and then, each novel analysed work-focused and it is not researched and explained about novelists in detail.
