Development of the faith concept, worships and religious tourism throughout history: A qualitative research

Abstract (EN)

Religious adoration is a form of worship which has been known throughout human history. While people go to nearby worshipping center, others travel thousands of kilometers in order to practice their worship called as pilgrimage. Considering the first travels, it is seen that religion is one of the first motives and belief tourism is one of the first types of tourism. People also travelled leaving their everyday environment to see the places mentioned in the holy books of their beliefs. This custom is maintained in the same way today. On the other hand, the destinations vary from religion to religion. In this study, the change and development of the worship and rituals in time that people have passed from the past to the present and how people perceived them have been examined by asking people living in different environments.. The findings of the interviews with these individuals were interpreted by descriptive analysis method in accordance with the qualitative research method and compared with the findings of the comprehensive literature survey.
