Abstract (EN)

Muhammad Hasan Khan Itimadussaltana (1843-1896) was one of the important statesmen of Iran during the Qajar period. He worked as a diplomat at the Iranian embassy in Paris, and later became head of the State Publication House and the State Translation Bureau. In 1883, he was appointed Minister of Press and Publications of Iran. Muhammad Hasan Khan is the author of many works. As part of the dissertation, the author's Persian work entitled Tarikh-i Muntazam-i Nasiri was considered. The work in question, first published in 1881-1883, consists of 3 volumes and covers events from the first year of the Hijri to the time of the author. The chronological scope of the dissertation is limited to the narrative of the period between the 1st and 132nd years of the Hijri in the first volume of the Tarikh-i Muntazam-i Nasiri. Thus, the subject of the study was the process that began with the resettlement of Muslims from Mecca to Medina and continued until the end of the Umayyad reign. In particular, Islamic conquests are described in detail. In the Introduction, which is the first chapter of the dissertation, the importance, purpose and methods of researching the topic are touched upon. The second chapter tells about the life and activities of Muhammad Hasan Khan and describes his works. The third chapter dedicated to the evaluation of Tarikh-i Muntazam-i Nasiri. The fourth chapter is devoted to the translation from Persian into Turkish of the chapters of Tarikh-i Muntazam-i Nasiri, covering the events between 1 and 132 AH. The final part presents the conclusions that we have come to in the course of our research and translation activities. We hope that our dissertation will contribute to science in terms of assessing the views of Iranian historiography of the Qajar era on the first period of Islam.
