Education and teaching are processes those must be held seriously. Education and teaching are the most important factors providing healthy and successful lives for people and societies. Apart from aims such as having professions, one of the incomes of education for people is giving some important attitudes for people. Democratic attitude is an important attitude that is necessary for people and societies. At a democratic education atmosphere, students must be able to behave independently and they must be able to discuss their ideas and suggestions without limitations. It is necessary to provide a democratic class in order to educate students. Controlled small group discussion is one of the methods students can learn democracy via behaving freely and discussion ideas and discussions independently. At controlled small group discussion, students learn to listen other students and understand them as well as expressing themselves. In fact, at that technique, one of the techniques of modern education approaches, all points necessary for gaining democratic attitudes is there. At that point, there are still many problems at history teaching in Turkey. That study aims to demonstrate relationship between controlled small group discussion and democratic behaviours of students at history courses.Key Words: Education, History, Democratic Attitude, Controlled Small Group Discussion, Education Program
