Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, basic concepts about historical masonry structures are mentioned, the types of damage that the structure can take and the repair and strengthening methods that can be applied are mentioned. The principles of restoration to be applied to a historical building and the restoration process are explained. The building, which is the main subject of the thesis and chosen as an example, is the Historical Şifa Bath, which was built during the Classical Ottoman Period and located in Samsun. The location of the building, its history, earthquake situation, architectural and structural features, spaces, load-bearing elements, building materials used and material analysis are included. Information about the damage to the building, restoration and strengthening work, and modern additions are given. Within the scope of this information obtained and the existing projects of the building, the original version of Şifa Hamam was modeled with the help of SAP2000 software. While modeling, the material mechanical values of the building, local soil conditions and the Turkish Building Earthquake Code published in 2018 were taken into account. With this model, the structural behavior performance of the bath structure under the influence of static and dynamic loads has been analyzed. As a result of the analysis applied to the sample structure, the structural elements that are likely to be damaged were determined.
