LED lighting in historical spaces and applications

The eye is one of our five sense organs and is the most important organ of our lives. We need to see something at any moment in our lives and we can do it by virtue of the light. There are two kinds of lights, the first of which is natural lights and the second of which is the artificial lights with which we can see around us in absence of the sunlight. The main goal of lighting is to provide excellent sight. Historical places are the bridges between the past and now. They are the mirrors of ancient people's lifestyle. The importance of historical building has recently increased due to intensifying cultural and touristic activities all around the world. Attention on historical places has escalated and they have drastically had more shares in touristic destinations. Therefore proper and decent way of exhibition of the historical places has gained importance and in last few years many new and different methods have been used on it. Various researches have been done on both indoor and outdoor lighting. İn the process of lighting, it is strictly necessary to bring the visuality forward, unravel the details and draw the people's attentions. In addition to this, it is also very important not to harm the historical buildings and their prominent features. Hereby the relevant works should be carefully and meticulously carried out. In this thesis, lighting of historical places has been discussed and lighting equipments have been presented.
