Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, linear and nonlinear time history analysis of stone minarets belonging to historical Lala Mehmet Pasha and Ibrahim Celebi mosques in Manisa have been made by considering structure-soil interactions. As a result of the analyzes, seismic behavior under dynamic effects was investigated. The thesis consists of five parts. In the first part, the importance of historical structures for Manisa and our country and the necessity of being transferred to the future with confidence are mentioned. In addition, experimental and numerical modal analysis studies in the literature and the purpose of this thesis study are given. In the second part, methods of preserving, repairing and strengthening of historical buildings are presented. In this part, the construction techniques of the minarets, modeling methods, positioning, sections and the loads acting on them are presented. Materials that make up historical structures, experiments used to determine the mechanical properties of materials, modeling methods, modeling and material idealizations are also included in this part. Experimental and numerical modal analysis methods used to obtain the dynamic characteristics of the structures and mathematical formulations of these methods are presented together in this part. Finally, earthquake waves, importance of structure-soil interaction, methods used to determine soil material parameters, soil modeling, soil boundary conditions in modeling and soil material model types are given in this part. In the third part, experimental equipments, methods and package programs used in the thesis are presented. In the fourth part, the Operational Modal Analysis method and numerical analysis applied in the minarets of Lala Mehmet Pasha and Ibrahim Celebi mosques are given. The differences between experimental and numerical methods were reduced by changing the initial material parameters of the model and the initial model was improved. In this study, three finite element models were created for both minarets. These models are the model with initial material parameters, the model with improved material parameters and the structure-soil interaction model. Linear and nonlinear time-history analyzes were performed on each model. Mohr-Coulomb material model was used for nonlinear analysis of the soil and Concrete Damage Plasticity (CDP) material model was used for nonlinear analysis of the minaret. The results obtained from the analyzes are presented in detail in tables in the relevant section. In the fifth part, the results and suggestions obtained in the study are presented. This section is followed by references section and CV section.
