Abstract (EN)

When we look at the world in general, the majority of building types, refer to the historical building, built with large stones masonry techniques. However, the less developed and developing countries, households in rural and slum areas, users of stone, adobe, brick or terra cotta brick masonry building is built in the shape. Our country is a great loss of life caused by earthquakes on geography. However, with many historic masonry structures masonry structures built in rural areas and a large part of urban earthquake regions. Shear stresses on the walls of masonry structures creates earthquake loads. For this reason the shear strength of the masonry walls should be increased. Nowadays, many studies have been conducted on the behavior of masonry walls. This study examined the initial stage of metal fasteners used in historical masonry buildings. In the second stage, the sample made for experimental studies of the walls of the mortar compressive strength and tensile strength of masonry units were investigated in accordance with the relevant standards. Also standard on metal fasteners tensile strength is calculated taking into account the result of experimental studies. The third stage, the walls of the sample using metal fasteners, wall behavior and strength, by considering experimental results are the results from our studies examined. The study was created with the metal fasteners of reference and experimental studies on the model in the form of stone masonry walls. The metal clamp and dowel fasteners are used. In the experimental study, a total of 13 to 1 the reference sample size of 650x730x150 mm3 sample of stone masonry walls subjected to diagonal compression effect. Masonry each unit size 100x150x200 mm3. The main purpose of the handling of the diagonal walls tested, to investigate the behavior of the influence of the shear walls. Sample a number of walls of natural stone to lean clamp and dowel a reference model for the use of the model wall, the others models using clamp and dowel walls. The study identified the increasing load levels of displacement, refraction shapes been displayed photographs. As a result, the model with clamp and dowels stone masonry walls, stone masonry wall higher than the reference model showed strength.
