Abstract (EN)

The main aim of this study is to analyze the societal role of woman within both historical period formed by property relations and Veblen's economic thought. In this context, the property relations and women's role traced to forming of primeval societies and continued to development of Capitalism and post-Industrial Revolution. Due to problematic of the study on property relations and trivializing of women labor, feminist movements were mainly mentioned. In doing so, the trivializing process of women labor was scrutinized within the historical period from primeval-barbarian societies to looters, and from looter societies to modern societies by referring to specific concepts underlined in the Evolutionary Economic Theory of Veblen. Additionally, the gender and patriarchy issues were described within historical period. In this context, the study pointed to elucidatory aspect of Veblen's Economic Theory in understanding the societal role of women in patriarchal structure and their issues in modern society.
