Abstract (EN)
This research titled ?Ceramic Bells Throughout History? contains a comprehensive exploration of bell history. In the first chapter, bell is defined and a brief history of bell is given. The bell described with examples about century long development and change of humankind.In second chapter bells are examined by both cultural characteristics and material quality. In many societies it is observed that bells have become symbols. Taking this process into considiration, significance of the bells are highlighted by examining cultural meanings and application areas.In the third chapter, ceramic bells are being investigated by briefly examining the historical development of ceramic art. The research focuses on contemporary ceramic bells as a result of detailed analysis of the research samples. Interpretations by ceramic artists for the bells (those carry an acoustic and aesthetic values) concerns into art objects loaded into the conceptual meaning of them has been transferred. At the same time as the mass production of objects encountered in production instead of the bell have been mentioned.The research has been completed by the design variations of the bell with the decorative and abstract approach to forms and surfaces. Aesthetic value of acoustic featuring bells were investigated on unique forms.
