Evaluation of agricultural policies on agricultural employment: the case of Çiftlik town Agricultural village

In the present study, the purpose was to analyse the effects of agricultural policies on the employment from the perspective of individuals living in rural areas. The husbandry sector is important both in the world and in our country in terms of production and employment. People who make the agricultural production, or the kind of people that constitute the husbandry sector employment, the level and the type of production vary by countries and regions. By taking these into consideration, the sector which is mentioned can be defined with its unique characteristics. The husbandry sector covers a wide range of areas from crop production and animal breeding to forestry and fisheries, and is defined as a production activity mostly based on rural areas. The agricultural sector has an important place also for Turkey. The present study reveals how "agricultural policy", "agricultural employment" and "institutional structures in the agricultural sector" concepts are perceived by the study group consisting of participants living in rural areas involved in husbandry production. The fundamental basis for this study is the importance of the agricultural production and employment. Qualitative analysis methods were used for the study. As a result of this study, which examined the effects of husbandry procedures on husbandry employment by distinguishing between its policies "determining the production structure" and "determining working conditions", it must be mentioned that the evaluations of the interviewers should be dealt with in the context of "agricultural policy implementations".
