Abstract (EN)
The wastes generated as a result of the use of energy resources such as coal, oil and natural gas throughout the world can cause destruction in nature and cause negative effects in terms of economic and environmental factors. In the coal types used in our country, especially in the ash molecules resulting from the combustion of wood and hard coal types, there are toxic substances. These toxic substances can be a threat to the environment and living health. With the development of technology, solutions are tried to be produced with alternative energy sources to slow down or prevent this threat. With the increasing global population, solutions involving alternative energy sources have begun to be sought. As global warming intensifies, the energy problems facing the world have also grown. Consequently, efforts to reduce the environmental impact of energy production have gained momentum. The use of biomass as a heat energy source has been widely adopted through pyrolysis (a method that converts biomass into solid, liquid, and gas products suitable for modern life), differing from traditional methods. To this end, this thesis examined the feasibility of using biochar obtained through a continuous closed-system pyrolysis method using agricultural waste as an alternative energy source. For this purpose, three different types of coal were compared through physical and chemical analyses of biochar obtained from agricultural waste using the torque method and compression technique. As a result, this thesis investigated the production processes of biochar produced from agricultural waste, and then statistically evaluated the data obtained by performing physical and chemical analyses of the resulting coal.
